THIRD GRADE TOURS

The estate resounded with the excited shouts of Marshfield third graders as they explored life as it was lived here in Daniel Webster’s day. Guided by knowledgeable docents, the students learned the history of the grounds and the rich history of the mansion.

They were surprised by Webster’s housemaid who taught them how to set a formal table and by Mrs. Webster who explained eighteenth century clothing and darning to them. They eagerly scrubbed wet laundry with washboards, and many declared this their favorite part of the tour.

The DWPT is delighted to be a part of the Marshfield Schools’ field trips and we look forward to hosting our third graders each year.
